Introduction

This privacy notice provides you with details of how we collect and process your personal data through your use of our site edymarablan.com.

We may process the following categories of personal data (any information capable of identifying an individual) about you:

• Communication Data: including but not limited to any communication that you send to us whether it is through email, text, social media messaging, social media posting. We process this data for the purposes of communicating with you, for record keeping and for the establishment, pursuance or defense of legal claims. Our lawful ground for this processing is our legitimate interests which in this case are to reply to communications sent to us, to keep records and to establish, pursue or defend legal claims.
• User Data refers to data about how you use our website. We process this data to operate our website and ensure relevant content is provided to you, to ensure the security of our website, to maintain back- ups of our website and/or databases and to enable publication and administration of our website.
• Technical Data that includes data about your use of our website and online services such as your IP address, your login data, details about your browser, length of visit to pages on our website, page views and navigation paths, details about the number of times you use our website, time zone settings and other technology on the devices you use to access our website. The source of this data is from our analytics tracking system. We process this data to analyze your use of our website and other online services, to administer and protect our business and website, to deliver relevant content and decide on our marketing strategy
• Marketing Data about your preferences in receiving marketing from us and our third parties and your communication preferences. This data allows us to enable you to take part in our promotions, prize draws, competitions and free give-aways, to deliver relevant website content and advertisements to you .

How we collect your personal data

When you sign up for one of my free content you are also signing up for my newsletter, and thus you are agreeing that I may send you my newsletters, typically weekly which contain information on my writing or upcoming books, offers, promos and free books and suggestions and links to books and stories by other authors of similar genre who I think might interest you.

When someone visits edymarablan.com, I use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behavior patterns. I do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. I do not make and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Mailing List

As part of the registration process for my e-newsletter, I collect personal information. I use that information for a couple of reasons: to reply to your questions; to contact you if I need to send you specific items, for example, ARC copies of my books, and to send you my newsletter which contains my personal news, author news and marketing material regarding my new releases etc, plus suggestions on books and stories from other authors that I think might appeal to you. I might occasionally run a survey and collect additional information, but it is entirely up to you to participate in such surveys, and the data collected will only be used to provide you better products.

I DO NOT rent or trade email lists with other organizations, businesses or individual.

I use a third-party provider, Mailerlite, to deliver my newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see Mailerlite’s Privacy Notice.

Please note that I occasionally use affiliate links. This means that if you follow one of my links and buy something from an external supplier, like Amazon, I might be receiving a small commission from it. This costs you nothing.

Merchandising

I do not operate an online store. However, I do provide some merchandising related to my books through links to third parties/providers. Any purchases made through these sites are thus subject to their policies. However, if there were quality issues at some point (a product broken in the mail, or with defect printing), you might contact me directly at edymar@edymarablan.com so that I can ensure you receive a prompt solution from the provider.

I will not trade the subscribers’ information with these sites, nor will I receive information from them regarding your purchasing activities or preferences.
